Dr. Kantin specializes in biomedical ethics, metaphysics, and epistemology. She is especially interested in how various issues in in metaphysics and epistemology (especially questions about personal identity/survival, death, and doxastic responsibility) bear on ethical questions, and bioethical questions in particular. Prior to arriving at the University of Alabama Dr. Kantin spent two years as a fellow in the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Kantin works with Dr. Richards in directing the department’s Philosophy and Medicine Specialization.
