Dr. Kantin specializes in biomedical ethics, metaphysics, and epistemology. She is especially interested in how various issues in metaphysics and epistemology (especially questions about personal identity/survival, death, and doxastic responsibility) bear on ethical questions and bioethical questions in particular. Prior to arriving at The University of Alabama, Dr. Kantin spent two years as a fellow in the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Kantin works with Dr. Richards in directing the department’s philosophy and medicine specialization.
